In Gujarat, a total of 1664 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the second phase of the Assembly elections. The scrutiny of the papers was held on Tuesday. During this phase, 93 of the 182 constituencies will go to polls on the 14th of next month.

The campaigning for the first phase of the Assembly polls is getting momentum in the state. On Wednesday Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address rallies at various places while Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will take part in electioneering.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address public rallies at Morbi, Prachi, Palitana and Navsari on Wednesday. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be in Jamnagar on Wednesday for campaigning. While Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is also visiting Gujarat for two days.
During his visit he will go to Gir Somnath, Junagadh and Amreli districts where he will hold several meetings and public rallies.

Rahul Gandhi is paying a two-day visit to Gujarat and will visit Gir-Somnath, Junagarh and Amreli on the first day of his two-day trip. This will be his sixth visit after the state assembly elections were declared and could be his last before the first phase of the elections.
