Sharad Yadav announces `Sajha Virasat Bachao Sammelan` to be held tomorrow in Delhi
Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav on Wednesday said that various opposition parties are expected to join an event to save India’s “composite culture”.

Yadav said the ‘Sajha Virasat Bachao Sammelan’ will be organised on Thursday. “It will be attended by leaders of the Opposition parties, intellectuals, farmers, Dalits and tribals from across the country,” he said.

The remark comes amid differences between Nitish Kumar and Yadav which surfaced after the former snapped ties with the Congress and the RJD, and allied with the BJP to form a new government in Bihar last month. Yadav had maintained that he is a part of the Grand Alliance with the RJD and the Congress.

Leaders of the Congress, the Left, Samajwadi Party, BSP, TMC and other parties opposed to the BJP have been invited to the programme, which is being seen as Yadav’s show of strength against Kumar’s decision to ally with the BJP.

The JD(U) suspended 21 partymen close to former president Yadav on Monday, deepening the crisis in the ruling party days before the chief minister-led faction joins the NDA formally, against the wishes of the Yadav section. The action set off speculation that suspension of the former president was just a matter of time.
