Speaking at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump said the recently signed agreement gives Iran 60 days to reach a deal with the United States.
Trump warned that if no agreement is reached within that period, Washington would take steps that “won’t make them happy.”
The U.S. President also highlighted the rapid resumption of commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, saying oil tankers were moving through the strategic waterway in large numbers.
Trump said ships were flowing out of the Strait of Hormuz at an unprecedented pace, adding that hundreds of vessels were now operating in the area. He said the increased movement of oil tankers could lead to a decline in oil prices and expressed hope that energy companies would welcome the development.
