The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday issued heatwave and rainfall alerts across the country for the coming weeks.
The IMD has issued heatwave warnings for Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and adjoining Chhattisgarh. Alerts have also been issued for Bihar, Vidarbha, as well as Kerala.
As per the IMD, Delhi, Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, and parts of Uttar Pradesh will experience warm night conditions over the next two days.
Meanwhile, the Met Department has also predicted heavy rainfall today over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. North Interior Karnataka is likely to experience thunderstorms and hailstorms till tomorrow.
According to the weather agency, thunderstorms and lightning are also expected in parts of Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, and Kerala.
