The Assam Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) today filed the much-anticipated chargesheet in the death case of music icon Zubeen Garg. The report has been submitted before the CJM court, based on statements from seven inmates and over 200 witnesses.
The chargesheet reportedly running into nearly 7,000 pages was filed at the CJM court.
Zubeen Garg passed away in Singapore on 19 September, leading to widespread public demand for a thorough investigation. Acting on the Assam Chief Minister’s directions, the CID initiated an SIT-led probe into the incident.
Seven individuals who were present with Garg during the incident were arrested in connection with the case.
